adventures in curiosity-bugness
Feb. 6th, 2009 03:46 pmthis morning it started with
- checking the weather, which led to
- researching the blizzard of 1978, which led to
- checking out the lake effect storm "bald eagle", which led to
- a video of teenagers in new hampshire driving around in a snowstorm, which led to
- the long winter, which led to
- laura ingalls wilder, which led to
- reading up on melissa gilbert, which led to
- finding out sara gilbert and her partner have a kid, at which point i backtracked to
- walnut grove, minnesota, the origin of the name "almanzo", and pepin county, wisconsin, which led to
(going to work, and coming home to pick up where i left off)
- trying to figure out what .08% of 7213 people is, which led to
- wondering how there could be 5.77 african-american people in the county (is one an amputee?), which led to
- thinking my math must be wrong, which led to
- not being interested in dealing with math at all, which led to
- being curious about the annual snowfall in pepin county, which led to
- checking the annual snowfall in wisconsin, which was also not listed, which led to
- algonquian toponyms, which led to
- looking up what native american tribes lived in new jersey, which made me see the last name "goddard", which reminded me of
- an idiot i argued with a few times on a bbs before i used the internet, in 1992 or so, which led to
- googling him, and getting an annoying religious website, which led to
- retreating to little house in the prairie, which reminded me that:
i can get lost very easily, and possibly no one would find me.
