i pretty much did nothing at all today. after another night of one hour asleep, an hour and a half trying to get back to sleep and then a few more hours awake before getting 3 hours of sleep, i called out sick. i got in an extra hour and a half of sleep after that. i did a little bit of commenting, a bit of watching tv, a little eating, etc. after work, marc stopped by to tell me some stories outside, and we had a brief run-in with the drunk man, who tried to instruct marc on how to wear facial hair, and lectured me for not smoking indoors. (this is an old lecture that makes no sense since it was in the ad i answered for this apartment that it was not to be smoked in!)
i have plans in the works to make at least one and probably two hats. i purchased some yarn this weekend for this purpose, and i could have worked on hats today, except i elected to do nothing at all.
i will go to work tomorrow regardless of how i feel, because if i don't i'll need a doctor's note since we're going to have a three-day weekend. word on the wire is that we have at least one confirmed h1n1 case, and 5 other cases of flu which may or may not be h1n1. in a school full of high-risk kids, this is not awesome. but it was bound to happen. i'm really hoping i've had it already, because i don't relish the idea of getting it now when it flies around the school. surely i had it in the spring. influplaguemonia! it had to be!
the cats were very nice to me today. well, when they were awake, which wasn't much.
the wall surrounding the backyard has been taken down and is being rebuilt. unfortunately, this means that all the shrubs on the perimeter were pulled out. the birds typically hang out there. hopefully the work will go quickly and they'll be replacing the greenery. also, i had a woodpecker fly over today. don't know what kind.
i should make some tea and start trying to make bed happen soon. george is snoring away on top of the laundry, and zelda is fast asleep on the ottoman. sometimes i wish i could sleep as easily as they can.
