finally located the michael stipe appearance on snl from 10+ years ago when he played a christmas fairy. the skit in general is not particularly good, imho, but i'm not a fan of snl. but stipe's totally blase performance rocked and provided me and nymsa with endless amusement. it's on vhs somewhere, but i haven't tracked it down. for years, i tried to find it on youtube, to no avail. but the other day, i finally succeeded.

and now i have this awesome icon.

the section with stipe starts around 3:15, and it is most awesome. "i am the christmas fairy <wide eyes>. here, have some glitter..." "is it the end of the world as i know it?"

the exaggerated facial expressions kill me with glee.

glitter, part two.

on sunday night i watched the macy's fireworks from a block away from my house, sometimes assisted by fireworks, while listening to music by englishmen, irishmen, and canadianmen. that's just how it goes.

last night, i watched my town's fireworks from the other side of the street. i didn't listen to anything.
