blah blah birding journal entry blah
Nov. 5th, 2010 09:22 pmi went birding in four new locations today, in three towns.
highlights:
- 100+ wild parrots (monk parakeets, aka quaker parrots)
- 200+ double-crested cormorants - probably more like 300, but counting was hard because of their distance
- winter wren. my first. ridiculously cute bird.
- singing fox sparrows. more fox sparrows than i've ever seen, and i'd never heard them sing before. it was actually pretty.
- the tiniest slug i've ever seen. it was so tiny, i had to take pictures.
i hate busses. but i'm glad i woke up before missing my stop.
tomorrow's another day.
