ice, chinese food, weather, odds and ends
Jan. 8th, 2009 09:28 pmone of my coworkers was awakened at 3am last night by the sound of half a tree falling on her husband's truck. this was after watching the ice break giant limbs off of all the trees in her backyard yesterday.
another coworker was out today because her husband slipped and fell on the ice this morning and fucked up his back.
i was there this morning when another coworker slipped and fell on the ice in our parking lot. i checked to make sure she was okay, chatted with her briefly, then turned on my ipod and went to have my cigarette. 30 seconds later she was in her car and driving away. i wondered if she had only been pretending to be okay and had just driven herself to the emergency room while i accidentally ignored her. turned out she was going to get herself another cup of coffee because she lost hers in the fall. she'd told me, but didn't know i hadn't heard her because of the ipod.
winter is nothing to sneeze at. unless of course you get a cold.

i order lunch at work far too often. today the only real option was chinese, even though i'm kind of sick of it. i had it yesterday for lunch as well. yesterday was sesame noodles, which have been a stand-by this year, and i only ate half of it because i just didn't want it. i'm tired of veggie lo mein. i'm tired of broccoli in garlic sauce. bla bla bla. so today i threw caution to the wind and ordered vegetable chow mei fun, which i'd never had before. it was awesome. it will be my next go-to chinese dish until it, too, makes me sick.

oh god, i have to figure out what to eat for dinner. *flees her seat*

harris vs. hamilton commentary will have to wait.

meteorological whisperings of significant (not major or historic) snow saturday. (it is worth noting that i began to mistype "historic" as "hystoric".) i don't want snow. i especially don't want it if it happens on a weekend.

in about half an hour i get to watch er without using a screwdriver in hopes of getting half a staticky picture!!! this is incredibly exciting. you have no idea. truly.

i harbor a secret fear that the new placement of my bed is not going to work out. i hope i am wrong and it's just an adjustment period for me. it's amazing how the placement of my bed can impact my sleep and my body so significantly.

i have to do training next week. <sulk>
