balancing act

up early to accomplish fifty zillion things, including a trip to the laundromat, before leaving by 9:30 to catch a train to jersey city. it's my nephew's first birthday party (about 3 weeks after his actual birthday) today. the party was scheduled for last week, but was postponed due to snow, which is a bit unfortunate since i have other plans today Far Away. so i'll actually only be at the four-hour party for about half an hour before i have to leave and begin a public transportation trek of silly proportions to make it up to rockland county in time to meet![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

i'm looking forward to the weekend, but i wish today's logistics were a bit more relaxed. i won't relax until about 3:15, when i am safely boarded on my final train of the day.
most importantly, though, i got the kid some decent presents. he's 1, and since i haven't seen them since mid-december, i'm bringing his birthday presents, christmas presents, and the christmas presents for my other nephew and niece.
i should go wrap all that stuff. and pack. and go to the laundromat. and become clean. and get dressed. and maybe eat. and finish stuff around the house. and...
